Some people are just sooooooooo sensitive. I had a
complaint from someone the other day that despite having
been associated with the club for a number of years,
his name only appears a couple of times on the website.
It would appear that the individual concerned feels
that his endeavours for the club should be recognised
in some way and that his many years service for the
club warrants further mention on the site. Having considered
his comments, I agree that a worthy mention should go
to

There. Happy now ?
In other news, the Iver
Heath Cricket Club Forum is now open for business.
Chat away with other members of the club or visiting
players to your hearts content. The Forum
is very new and I'm still getting to grips with the
interface so if you spot any little glitches or have
suggestions on how to improve the service, drop
me a line.
01 August 2005 - BREAKING
NEWS
As a result of Mikey Bee making himself unavailable
for the rest of the season, Trigger has signed a new
player. In an exclusive interview with the Iver Heath
CC website the skipper revealed his reasons for the
new signing :
Hi...How's it going ? I felt that the balance of
the side might be affected with Mikey's unavailability.
At the end of the day the guy has been playing for the
club for 18 years and has become something of a familiar
figure. Opposition teams expect to see him in the line
up so I thought it was necessary to bring in a replacement
who matches Mikey in both physical appearance and off
the field activities.
An early photo has been released of the new signing
and can be found by clicking on this link - New
Signing . A further photo also shows Trigger conducting
umpiring practice - click

press release shows the new signing being introduced
to one of the youngsters in the club - click

Call me an anorak but I've just been looking through
the stats on the server which tell me all the search
phrases people enter into Google or whatever to get
to the site. It is interesting (no, honestly, it is)
to see how people end up on the site whilst surfing
the World Wide Web. For example, 21% of people get here
by entering the word cricket somewhere in their search
phrase and 8.7% enter the word Iver. That all makes
sense so far. Where I start to get a little disturbed,
however, is when I see that 2.7% of all searches contain
the word gay, 3.5% contain the word arsehole and 10.4%
contain the word naked. The overall winner, however,
in the unusual search phrase is underpants with
a massive 17.4% of all searches !!
On Sunday we travel to Headstone for a fixture against
another of our long standing rivals. The balance of
power shifts constantly between the two sides and, at
the moment, lies with our hosts on Sunday after their
crushing 111 run victory against us earlier in the season.
It is a game that I know both sides look forward to
playing and we certainly hope to even the score this
weekend. Injuries and bloody Chelsea against bloody
Benfica mean that, yet again, we don't have a full strength
team for Sunday but, on paper, we look a more than capable
side. Let's hope the wicket at Headstone is made out
of paper....
On a non-cricketing note,
one of their players and long time friend of Iver Heath
CC, Chris Emmott, is currently trying to raise funds
for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity. He is hoping
to participate in a 40 mile walk to raise money for
the cause and needs your help. To take part,
Chris needs to raise £1500 and is organising a
number of events including a 20-20 cricket match and
a charity poker night. Further details on the fund raising
activities and Chris' very personal reasons for supporting
this campaign can be found on his personal
page on the Breakthrough website.
Iver Heath won The Oddfellows Cup on Sunday by 67 runs
against our old rivals St Johns Wood. Winning the toss,
Trigger decided to bat and despite an early collapse
we ended up with 189 runs thanks to a great stand between
Glory and Stanners. The game was in the balance for
some time until a late flurry of wickets restricted
SJW to 122 all out. A full report of the game can be
found on the St
Johns Wood website

06 July 2005
After Iver Heath's very own version of Pop Idol, I
can exclusively reveal the name of the trophy Iver Heath
and St Johns Wood will be playing for this weekend......The
Oddfellows Cup. This is the inaugral Oddfellows
Challenge match and we're certainly hoping for a better
batting performance than the one displayed on Sunday
against Academicals. Fat Franks suggestion of playing
for a huge vibrator came a close second. The sole reason
the judges (i.e. Trigger) didn't choose this worthy
alternative was based on the fact that this would suggest
to all and sundry that both teams were stuck up c*nts...
